The Samskrita Bala-Sahitya Parishad is a unique initiative for promoting children's literature in Sanskrit. This Parishad was inaugurated on 15 August 2014, and the first meeting of the core group members took place on October 4-5, 2014. The Parishad will focus on all possible activities related to creation, evaluation, preservation and propagation of qualitative children's literature in Sanskrit.

Concurrently, in a document titled Vision and Road Map for the Development of Sanskrit: Ten Year Perspective Plan released by the Languages Division, Ministry of Education, New Delhi in February 2016, there is a mention of a Children's Literature Project under the Ashtaadashi - eighteen projects for sustaining the growth of Sanskrit. It has been stated that the need to learn and teach languages at an early age is essential and that the Sanskrit language should develop through the inclusion of multi-coloured books, digital contents, rhymes, web portals, films and so on.

Thus, the vision of the Samskrita Bala-Sahitya Parishad resonates with that envisioned by the Ministry of Education in its ten-year perspective plan for the development of Sanskrit.
